Week 9 Nov 16-20

My clinical day this week was on Tues Nov 17th for 7 hours. This was the day of meetings!! Our morning consisted of reviewing Kronos data and ensuring that all employees where in their correct cost centers or if anyone needed to be moved. Our first meeting was with Human Resources to discuss where information concerning agency nurses competencies would be stored, who was in charge of making sure those competencies were kept up to date, and if how long these records needed to be stored. Currently, those floor in which the agency nurse worked for was in charge of keeping up with their information. But, recently there was an incident in which the weekend house supervisor needed access to this information but was unable to locate it because it was scattered about the hospital. In order to fix the problem and keep with Joint Commission guidelines, all information concerning agency nurses will now be kept in human resources.
After this exhillerating meeting, off we went to a webcast to learn how to deal with problem employees and attitude problems. This was actually interesting and fits in with our management course. I found the ideas interesting and seemed fairly easy to implement.
The end is almost here!! I cannot believe it.
