Week 2

Week Sept 28-Oct 2.



I did not meet with my preceptor this week. Instead, I worked on my Change project and on how to manage my time better. By taking this course at the same time as NURS 4803, I am forced to complete the paper for one course and implement it in another (and all in one semester!). As a manager, having excellent time management skills are a must. I thought that I had a system down that would work for me (it has always worked before) but turns out it needs a little fine tuning. It is difficult to balance 3 courses and a full time job. To top it off, this whole "swine flu" scare has taken an 8-5 job and turned it into 8-7 or later. It has definitely affected my study time. To compensate, I have had to learn to use each minute of my time to my advantage. This is an important management skill. A manager has to display excellent time management skills so that his/her employees have a good example to follow.
